ModelRef is a Blender add-on for working with reference images through dedicated cameras. Instead of placing and managing image planes by hand, you create reference cameras, assign a different image to each one, and adjust every reference from a single panel. It is aimed at character artists, sculptors, likeness artists, and 3D modelers who need front, side, and custom reference views while matching proportions, silhouette, and facial structure.
The add-on comes in Lite and Pro editions. Lite covers up to 3 reference cameras with per-camera images, focal length, opacity, scale, rotation, offset X and Y, a show-front option, and camera creation, selection, duplication, and deletion. Pro includes everything in Lite and adds unlimited cameras, advanced camera controls, model controls, precision toggles, camera and model baseline and reset, and reorderable panel sections.
ModelRef does not automatically create a likeness or align the model. It is a workflow tool for manually matching your model against camera-based references, letting you switch between views without losing your setup. Documentation is included, and a demo video is available.
