Polygon Cruncher V15 reduces the polygon count of your objects in 3ds Max without changing their appearance, keeping the details even at a high optimization ratio. It retains texture information, vertex colors and user-defined normals, and protects object borders, material boundaries and UV seams. Optimization can also account for the symmetry of your objects.
The plugin includes three modules. A modifier plugin allows real-time optimization in the 3ds Max viewers and includes MagicCruncher for automatic optimization, with a MaxScript interface. A utility plugin adds a built-in OpenGL view, precise control over optimization, batch processing and LOD generation for your assets. A standalone application optimizes assets from various file formats, with folder batch processing and MagicCruncher.
Ambient occlusion and normal maps can be computed at the same time as simplification, and objects can be exported for the web in GLB format with integrated textures. Polygon Cruncher runs on an algorithm Mootools has developed over ten years. Version 15.20 adds 3ds Max 2026 support, USD file support, and a Load, Save and Reinit settings feature.
