Quick Export earns its place in the blender_extensions library by reducing collection exporting to a single click from the Outliner, and it has been downloaded over 10,000 times.
Quick Export is a Blender addon by Maro3D that streamlines exporting by letting you export the collection containing the active object with a single click. Select an object, click the Quick Export button in the Outliner, and the addon finds the relevant collection and exports it using its associated exporters. It is aimed at users who frequently export specific collections.
The addon searches for the first collection that has exporters, starting from the collection containing the active object. When it finds a valid collection it stops and uses the appropriate exporter; if multiple exporters are available, all of them are used. This removes the need to open Collection properties each time you want to export a collection.
The Quick Export button can be added to Quick Favorites by right-clicking it, after which pressing Q lets you run it. Quick Export is compatible with Blender 4.2 LTS and newer and is released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later. Version 1.1.0 changed the addon's workflow.
Quick Export is best for blender users who frequently export specific collections and want a fast, single-click way to do it.
Quick Export is completely free to download and use.
Quick Export can be added by dragging and dropping the extension into Blender, or by downloading it and installing from disk. Alternatively, download the addon's .py file, open Blender, go to Edit > Preferences, navigate to the Add-ons section, click Install, select the .py file, and enable the addon by checking the box next to Quick Export Collection. This extension does not require special permissions to run.
Quick Export is compatible with Blender 4.2 LTS and newer, and the developer lists Blender 4.2.0 or newer as a requirement. If you are running an earlier release, you would need to update Blender before using the addon, which adds a Quick Export button to the Outliner. The current version, 1.1.0, changed the addon's workflow and was published in August 2024. For the latest compatibility details, check the developer's page on GitHub, where the source is available.
Quick Export is listed as free here and is released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later. This extension does not require special permissions to run, and the project is written entirely in Python. Its source code and manifest are hosted on the developer's GitHub repository. Quick Export can be sped up by adding its button to the Quick Favorites menu. Right-click the Quick Export button and select Add to Quick Favorites, then press Q and choose Quick Export to run it. Without this, you click the Quick Export button directly in the Outliner after selecting an object. The addon then finds the relevant collection and exports it using the associated exporters.
