Earns its place in the superhive library for combining GPU-accelerated terrain shaders with geometry-node water and seven ready presets, all driven from a single Quick Terrain panel.
The Quick Procedural Terrain & Water Addon from EdenWeby 3D creates terrain and water in Blender. It uses GPU-accelerated procedural terrain shaders together with CPU-based geometry nodes to generate results. You install it from the Blender Addons menu, after which a panel called Quick Terrain appears in the 3D view.
To build terrain, click Add Terrain and choose one of seven presets: Desert, Ice Land, Wet Land, Desert Water, Ice Waters, Mountain, or Tundra. Terrain settings adjust size, shape, and detail, and you can control color and texture or add your own displacement map. World settings cover lighting, atmosphere, and weather, along with the sun's position and the skybox.
For water, click Add Water and pick a water type to generate a body of water in the scene. Water settings control size, shape, depth, and color, and you can animate small waves and currents. A demo video is available for a closer look.
Quick Procedural Terrain & Water Addon is best for blender users creating procedural terrain and water in their scenes.
Quick Procedural Terrain & Water Addon is completely free to download and use.
The Quick Procedural Terrain & Water Addon installs from the Blender Addons menu, the same place you enable other add-ons. Once it's active, a new panel named Quick Terrain shows up in the 3D view. From there you click Add Terrain to generate a landscape from a preset, or Add Water to create a body of water. Both prompt you to pick a type first, and the addon then builds the object in your scene, where you can refine it with the terrain, world, and water settings.
The Quick Procedural Terrain & Water Addon ships with seven terrain presets: Desert, Ice Land, Wet Land, Desert Water, Ice Waters, Mountain, and Tundra. You select one after clicking Add Terrain, and the addon generates that terrain in your scene. From there the terrain settings let you adjust size, shape, and detail, control color and texture, and add your own displacement map if you want to push the shape further. The presets give a starting point that you can then fine-tune.
The Quick Procedural Terrain & Water Addon can animate water. After clicking Add Water and choosing a water type, the addon generates a body of water in the scene. Water settings control its size, shape, depth, and color, and you can animate the water's small waves and currents. Alongside the water, world settings handle lighting, atmosphere, and weather, plus the sun's position and the skybox, so the surrounding scene can be adjusted to match.
The Quick Procedural Terrain & Water Addon is listed as free in this catalog. Licensing terms can change over time, so it's worth checking the developer's page from EdenWeby 3D for the current details before you rely on it for a project. Once you have it, installation runs through the Blender Addons menu, and the Quick Terrain panel gives you the Add Terrain and Add Water tools to start building scenes.
