Rbf Drivers is a Blender addon from JamesSnowden that brings radial-basis function driving, familiar from software like Maya and Unreal Engine, to Blender rigging. Instead of defining how a rig should move, you define what you want it to do: pose your character's bones, adjust controllers, shape keys or other properties, and record a snapshot. The RBF driver fills in the blanks and interpolates smoothly as you pose or animate.
Because the approach is pose-based, a single driver can handle multiple inputs and multiple outputs, with unlimited driven properties controlling bones, objects, shape keys and more. That opens up work that constraints and standard drivers struggle with, such as interpolating shape keys for a shoulder, handling transforms where anatomy squashes, stretches and twists, and positioning secondary deformation bones.
Under the hood, Rbf Drivers builds on Blender's native tools with no runtime Python execution and multi-core operation within the dependency graph. Once a rig is set up it doesn't need the addon installed to work, so you can share, sell or send creations down the pipeline freely. Documentation and Discord support are available.
