Why we like it

Rigi-All earns its place in the Blender extensions library by building on Rigify rather than replacing it, wrapping the workflow in macros for faster limb generation. It's listed here as free under the GNU GPL v3.0 or later.

What is Rigi-All?

Rigi-All is a suite of tools dedicated to building a quick Rigify rig from an existing model and rig, such as game assets. It doesn't replace Blender's built-in Rigify add-on; instead it wraps the workflow in macros to make generating a Rigify rig faster, which is why Rigify must be enabled to use its rigging tools. Its different view modes each carry their own tools, available in the viewport.

The limb generation tools let you select a chain of bones and create Rigify arms, fingers, legs, spine, neck/head, shoulders, generic chains and extras. The Auto-Complete Other Side feature generates a limb for both sides from a single selection when bones are symmetry compatible, while Fix Symmetry Name formats bone names and the Bone Roll tool rotates selected bones by -90° or 90° on a local X, Y or Z axis. The Initialize Rig tool allocates bone collections and color groups, with an optional Preserve Original Bones parameter.

Clean Up tools remove unused bones and vertex groups, de-duplicate bone shapes and fuse armatures. A Make Bones Renderable tool converts a Rigify rig's wire shapes to tube geometry that can be rendered and composited.

Who is Rigi-All best for?

Frequently asked questions

Does Rigi-All work with Blender 4.2?

Rigi-All is compatible with Blender 4.2 LTS and newer, so current 4.x releases are covered. It works alongside Blender's built-in Rigify add-on rather than replacing it, which means Rigify must be enabled for the rigging tools to function. If you're on a Blender build older than 4.2, update before installing. For the exact supported range and any changes introduced in newer releases, check the developer's page.

Does Rigi-All require the Rigify add-on?

Rigi-All requires Rigify to be enabled to use its rigging tools. It does not replace Rigify; instead it elevates its functionality with macros that make generating a Rigify rig faster, working from an existing model and rig. Before starting, make sure the Rigify add-on is turned on in Blender's preferences. From there, Rigi-All handles steps like initializing the rig, generating limbs, and marking extra bones that carry over into the final Rigify rig.

Is Rigi-All free?

Rigi-All is listed here as free, and it's distributed under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later. The extension notes that it does not require special permissions. Licensing terms can change over time, so for the current details and the latest version it's best to check the developer's page directly. There you can also review the documentation covering the rigging, clean up and miscellaneous tool sets.

How do I install Rigi-All in Blender?

Rigi-All installs like other Blender extensions: you can drag and drop the add-on into Blender, or download it and use Install from Disk. Since its rigging tools depend on Rigify, enable the Rigify add-on as well before use. Once installed, Rigi-All's different view modes and their tools become available in the viewport. For step-by-step guidance, the developer's page includes documentation on the rigging, clean up and miscellaneous features.
