ShapeKey Copy earns its place in the Blender extensions library as a focused utility: it does one job, moving shape keys and optionally their animation between meshes, and keeps the workflow to a simple select-and-click. At around 7 KB with no special permissions, it stays lightweight.
ShapeKey Copy is a Blender add-on by Blenderbob for moving shape keys between meshes. It copies the shape keys from one mesh to another, and you can choose to bring their animation along or leave it out. The animation can also be copied on its own.
After installation, the add-on shows up in the viewport's tool tab. The workflow is direct: select the source mesh or meshes, select the destination, then click the copy button. The same select-and-click pattern applies to copying animation. A button sets all shape key values to zero, and a separate section copies armature animation as long as the armatures are identical.
The add-on is distributed under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later and requires no special permissions in Blender. It's compatible with Blender 4.5 LTS and newer, and can be dragged and dropped into Blender or installed from disk. A demo video is available, and the developer's GitHub page hosts the source and version history.
ShapeKey Copy is best for blender artists who need to transfer shape keys, and optionally their animation, from one mesh to another.
ShapeKey Copy is completely free to download and use.
ShapeKey Copy is compatible with Blender 4.5 LTS and newer, according to its listed compatibility. Once installed, the add-on appears in the viewport's tool tab, where you select your source meshes and destination and run the copy. The extension requires no special permissions in Blender. ShapeKey Copy works from the viewport's tool tab, which is where the add-on appears after installation. You select the source mesh or meshes, select the destination mesh, then click the copy button to transfer the shape keys. You can copy them with or without their animation, and there's a separate step for copying the animation as well. A button also sets all shape key values to zero. A demo video is available for a closer walkthrough.
ShapeKey Copy is listed as free here and is distributed under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later. It requires no special permissions in Blender, and the add-on can be dragged and dropped into Blender or installed from disk. For current licensing terms and any changes, check the developer's GitHub page, which hosts the source, the license file and the full version history.
ShapeKey Copy includes a section for copying armature animation, which works as long as the armatures are identical. Alongside the shape key transfer, you can copy the animation from one mesh to another, and a dedicated button sets all shape key values back to zero. These options all live in the viewport's tool tab. For more detail on the animation workflow, a demo video is available and the developer's GitHub page documents the add-on.
