SoleShapper earns its place in the Blender extensions library for a narrowly focused task: shaping sole meshes procedurally with noise, zone masking and STL/OBJ export.
SoleShapper is a Blender plug-in built for shoe designers who want art-directed control over sole meshes through procedural methods rather than manual sculpting. It ships with a default sole mesh baked into the add-on, so no external files are needed to start, and it can also load custom OBJ meshes for any sole shape.
Deformation is driven by procedural noise applied via vertex normals, with adjustable parameters such as scale, strength and seed. Zone masking lets you target deformation to specific areas, and you can reset to the base mesh to iterate freely. Finished soles export as STL or OBJ. The tools live in a side panel opened with N in the 3D Viewport, under the SoleShapper2 tab.
SoleShapper is compatible with Blender 4.2 LTS and newer, and is licensed under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later. It is available in the Blender extensions library, where it currently sits around rank 804.
SoleShapper is best for shoe designers who want procedural, art-directed shaping of sole meshes in Blender rather than manual sculpting.
SoleShapper is completely free to download and use.
SoleShapper is compatible with Blender 4.2 LTS and newer. The add-on requires Blender 4.2.0 or later and has been tested with Blender 5.x. Once installed and enabled through Edit > Preferences > Add-ons, its tools appear in the 3D Viewport sidebar under the SoleShapper2 tab, which you open by pressing N. If the tab is missing, confirm the add-on is enabled, and if it still does not appear, disable and re-enable it and restart Blender.
SoleShapper can be installed by dragging and dropping it into Blender, or by downloading the add-on and using Install from Disk. To install from disk, open Edit > Preferences, go to the Add-ons tab, choose Install from Disk, select the SoleShapper file, and tick the checkbox to enable it. After enabling, press N in the 3D Viewport to open the side panel and find the SoleShapper2 tab, then load a sole and adjust the noise parameters.
SoleShapper can load custom OBJ meshes for any sole shape, and it also includes a default sole mesh baked into the plugin so you can begin without external files. For output, it exports deformed soles as STL or OBJ. The extension requests file permission to import OBJ meshes and export STL or OBJ. You can reset back to the base mesh at any time to iterate on a new deformation.
SoleShapper is listed as free here and is distributed under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later. You can download it from the Blender extensions library or from the developer's GitHub page. For current licensing terms and the full license text, check the developer's page. The add-on is small in size and is available directly through the Blender extensions listing, where it can be installed via drag and drop or from disk.
