Specio Free is an addon for Blender aimed at 2D-to-3D workflows, beginning with SVG files. On import it applies fixes over Blender's included SVG addon, sets the origin of each individual curve to that curve's geometry, and reduces geometry for each object where appropriate. It also groups objects back into the layers they occupied in the original SVG, which the developer notes is important for later functionality.
Because Blender's native import tends to blur imported layers together, Specio Free can stack or extrude the layers so they can be seen individually. The addon has been updated for Blender 3.2 and later, and documentation is provided alongside it.
The free version is described as always remaining free and containing the basic functionality, while a separate pro version is aimed at advanced users who need to tweak default settings. Specio Free is published by Anthony Aragues and is listed under the GPL license. A demo video is available for those who want to see more before installing.
