Storypencil - Storyboard Tools stands out in the blender_extensions library as a storyboard toolset that was once part of Blender's bundled 4.1 add-ons, now maintained independently with limited support.
Storypencil - Storyboard Tools brings storyboard tooling to Blender. You start a storyboard session from the 3D Viewport under Draw > Setup Storyboard Session. The add-on was created by Antonio Vazquez, Matias Mendiola, Daniel Martinez Lara, Rodrigo Blaas, and Samuel Bernou, and it was once part of Blender 4.1's bundled add-ons. It is now offered as is, with limited support.
Version 1.2.0 targets Blender 4.4 and newer and fixes problems tied to Blender's API changes. To run the add-on on a Blender version before 4.4, the developer recommends downloading previous versions. It does not currently work in Blender 5.0, since many of its features were incorporated as native Blender functions. The developer has noted a new version in progress that will include rendering functionality, which isn't natively supported by Blender, plus a module for generating PDF documentation.
Storypencil - Storyboard Tools is distributed under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later, requires no special permissions, and is listed here as free.
