UbiSoft Pod formats connects Blender to the asset files of Pod, UbiSoft's racing game and one of the first titles to use the 3dfx Glide API in 1997. The add-on imports, modifies, and exports the game's original data, mapping those old-school assets to a modern Blender representation.
Coverage runs deep across the game's content. Track imports bring in race track models, texture and mesh animations, physical materials and obstacles, world and local lighting, sound speakers, repair pits, checkpoints, starting gates, record times, game event scripting, and opponent drive paths and attack behavior. Car imports include models with damaged sections, LoD meshes, physical statistics, in-game stats, and engine sounds. It also reads recorded ghost files, which can generate opponent paths, plus images from container files (converting palettized and 16-bit formats) and sounds from container files, including effects and motor audio curves.
Every format version is supported, from initial OEM distributions and shareware builds to the unreleased leaked Arcade machine successor. New content created in Blender can be packaged into CDPatcher-compatible installation files, and the project's wiki documents the imported data and export considerations in detail.
