UniForge earns its place in the superhive library as a Blender-to-Unity bridge that carries over shader node setups and materials FBX and glTF usually drop. It focuses on static assets — meshes, materials and hierarchy — with skeletal animation noted as planned for a future update.
UniForge is a one-click bridge between Blender and Unity. It exports meshes, materials and shader node setups into a single .unif file, and a companion Unity importer turns that file into ready-to-use prefabs, meshes and materials — keeping work that FBX and glTF usually throw away. Textures are embedded into the .unif, so there are no loose files to track.
Materials come across as full PBR — Base Color, Metallic, Roughness or Smoothness, Normal, Emission and transparency — mapped onto Unity's Lit shader. Procedural materials such as Noise and Color Ramp are baked to textures automatically, so the Blender look carries into Unity. A single file can hold multiple objects with parent hierarchy and transforms preserved, plus multi-material submesh support, and the workflow is bidirectional: import a .unif back into Blender to rebuild the scene.
A built-in CC0 material browser backed by ambientCG lets you search, preview and apply free PBR materials, with a tiling configurator for per-object scale, offset and rotation. An in-add-on auto-updater delivers new versions with one click. UniForge focuses on static assets — meshes, materials and hierarchy — with skeletal animation planned for a future update.
Uniforge is best for game developers and 3D artists who build assets in Blender and ship them in Unity, and who want a faster, cleaner pipeline than repeated FBX exports.
Uniforge is completely free to download and use.
UniForge requires Blender 3.6 or newer, with the 4.x series recommended by the developer, and it's listed here as compatible with Blender versions 3.6 through 5.2. On the export side it draws on Blender's meshes, materials and shader node setups, packing them into a single .unif file. If you're on a supported Blender release, the one-click export builds that file for you to drop into Unity, where the companion importer rebuilds it as prefabs, meshes and materials.
UniForge supports Unity 2021.3 LTS or newer, including Unity 6, and targets the Universal Render Pipeline (URP). Its full PBR materials — Base Color, Metallic, Roughness or Smoothness, Normal, Emission and transparency — map straight onto Unity's Lit shader. To bring assets across, you drop the exported .unif file into your Unity project and the companion importer turns it into ready-to-use prefabs, meshes and materials, with textures embedded in the file so there are no loose files to manage.
UniForge focuses on static assets — meshes, materials and hierarchy — so it does not currently handle skeletal animation. The developer notes that skeletal animation support is planned for a future update. What it does cover is multiple objects in one file with parent hierarchy and transforms preserved, plus multi-material submesh support, so complex static setups carry over intact. For rigged and animated characters you would need another route until that planned support arrives.
UniForge bakes procedural materials to textures automatically, covering nodes such as Noise and Color Ramp, so what you see in Blender is what you get in Unity. Alongside the baked results it maps full PBR channels onto Unity's Lit shader and embeds textures directly into the .unif file. A material tiling configurator lets you adjust scale, offset and rotation per object, and the built-in CC0 browser can apply free PBR materials from ambientCG before you export.
UniForge is listed as free in this catalog and carries a GPL license. Licensing terms can change, so check the developer's page for the current details before you rely on it for a project. Beyond the license, the add-on includes an in-add-on auto-updater so you can pull new versions with one click, along with a built-in CC0 material browser backed by ambientCG for searching, previewing and applying free PBR materials to your objects.
