UV Flow earns its spot in the superhive library by folding seam marking, unwrapping, straightening, and packing into one Blender add-on, with a Cut UV tool that respects Edit Mode symmetry and an Auto Unwrap mode that only touches the UVs a new seam affects.
UV Flow brings UV unwrapping into Blender through a dedicated Cut UV tool that sits in the toolbar. A pre-selection highlight shows the edge, and its controls cover marking edges, loops, whole loops, and shortest paths as seams, drawing seam paths by click and drag, and holding Alt to clear seams instead.
When Auto Unwrap is enabled, only the UVs affected by a new seam are unwrapped, so work you've already straightened or projected stays intact, and the Cut UV tool works with Edit Mode symmetry. You can also let edges act as seams based on their angle, bevel, crease, sharp, or freestyle attributes, which unwraps some hard-surface meshes without any seams. A context-aware straightening command aligns islands to selected edges, straightens connected edges into a line, fits quads to a grid, and aligns bounding boxes to the grid.
Seams are stored per UV map through seam layers, the overlay can be customized for seam color and thickness, and each material can be packed into its own UV space across multiple objects. Object Mode unwrapping and packing are included too.
Uv Flow is best for uV unwrapping in Blender, including hard-surface meshes that can be unwrapped from edge attributes, and preparing per-material UVs for texturing in apps like Substance Painter or Mari.
Uv Flow is completely free to download and use.
UV Flow's Cut UV tool works with Blender's Edit Mode symmetry, which the built-in Mark Seam does not. The tool sits in the toolbar and uses intuitive controls: left click marks an edge as a seam, double click marks a loop that stops at other seams, Shift plus double click marks an entire loop, and Ctrl plus click marks the shortest path. You can also draw a seam path by clicking and dragging, and holding Alt with any action clears seams. A pre-selection highlight shows the edge before you commit to a cut.
UV Flow can let edges act as seams based on their angle, bevel, crease, sharp, or freestyle attributes when you unwrap. In some cases, especially for hard-surface models, this can unwrap a whole mesh without placing any seams at all. You can also use those attributes to generate seams as a starting point for a manual unwrap. When Auto Unwrap is enabled, only the UVs affected by a new seam are unwrapped, so previously straightened or projected work isn't reset the way it can be with Blender's Live Unwrap.
UV Flow supports multiple UV maps through seam layers. Blender stores only one set of seams per object, but UV Flow automatically stores seam information per UV map, so you can work with as many unwraps as you need without extra clicks. This is useful for tasks like placing decals, where more than one UV map comes in handy. Because the seam data is kept per map automatically, switching between unwraps doesn't require you to redo or re-mark your seams.
UV Flow can pack each material into its own UV space, and it can do this for as many objects at once as you like, regardless of which object you're currently editing. This suits a per-material workflow, where final UVs are organized by material for texturing in other apps like Substance Painter or Mari. UV Flow also includes Object Mode unwrapping and packing, easy selection for objects or faces assigned to a material, a quick UV Editor toggle, and automatic framing of islands.
UV Flow is listed as free in this catalog. Licensing terms can change over time, so check Orange Turbine's page for the current details before you download. UV Flow is developed by Orange Turbine, a project of Autotroph, and ranks within the superhive library. A demo video is also available on YouTube if you want to see the Cut UV tool and unwrapping features in action before you install it.
