UV Snapper earns its place in the blender_extensions library for tackling a narrow but real problem: fitting UV shells to atlas and trim-sheet grids. Built on top of leukbaars' DreamUV workflow, it's commented in detail and open source, and has been downloaded roughly 19,778 times.
UV Snapper is a Blender add-on that snaps a UV selection to a user-defined custom atlas, driven from the UV Editor. Open its panel, select a shell or a group of UVs, and click Snap UV to Atlas. Only faces with all their UVs selected are snapped, and the selection is ripped into a new shell before snapping. It supports every UV selection method, including UV Sync mode.
The workflow centres on atlas textures and trim sheets, grid-based textures used to add edge detail, where face edges should line up with the grid lines. The atlas is defined with a plane mesh whose UV edges the add-on reads to locate those grid lines. A tweakable soft select smooths the snapped result, and a Create Example Atlas button drops a mesh atlas with a matching texture into the scene.
Built on leukbaars' DreamUV as its starting point, UV Snapper is commented in detail and released under the GPL. It works with Blender 4.2 LTS and newer.
UV Snapper is best for artists working with texture atlases or trim sheets that need UV shells to fill boxes, particularly those using DreamUV. Typically suits hard surface assets, though it fits any shape to the box.

UV Snapper is compatible with Blender 4.2 LTS and newer. You use it from the UV Editor: open the UV Snapper panel, select a shell or a group of UVs, then click Snap UV to Atlas. UV Snapper installs like a standard Blender add-on. Download uv_snapper.py from the developer's repository, and optionally grab the demo scene and atlas texture too. In Blender, go to Preferences, Add-ons, and use Install from File. It can also be dragged and dropped into Blender or installed from disk. Once enabled, open the UV Snapper panel in the UV Editor to begin snapping UVs to an atlas.
UV Snapper supports all UV selection methods, including UV Sync mode, so you can pick UVs in any of the four selection modes. Only faces with every UV selected will be snapped; a whole selected face is ripped into a new shell before being snapped to the atlas. If the operator picks the wrong corner UVs, you can make your intent clearer by moving the desired corner UVs closer to the corners of the atlas box they fall within.
UV Snapper reads a user-defined atlas object to locate its grid lines, so the atlas should be a plane mesh with subdivisions placed to match the grid lines on the texture, and its UV edges must match the texture. Atlases that aren't square, have diagonal edges not aligned to an axis, or sit outside the UV 0-1 space are not supported. If you don't have one, the Create Example Atlas button adds a mesh atlas with a matching texture to the scene.
UV Snapper is listed as free in this catalog and is distributed under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later. It requires no special permissions to run in Blender. The download can be paired with an optional demo scene and atlas texture from the developer's repository.
