Why we like it

A compact add-on at just a few kilobytes, Ani Offset earns its place in the Blender extensions library for its focused pose-offset workflow.

What is Ani Offset?

Ani Offset is a Blender animation add-on by Drika111 for adjusting multiple keyframes directly from the viewport. It propagates pose adjustments across several keyframes at once, while the animation curves are maintained after the changes are applied.

After installation, you enable the add-on in a side panel named Ani Offset and choose the action and slot you want to modify from a dropdown menu. You then define the frame range by entering start and end frames. In pose mode, you select the bones you intend to change and click "capture pose", adjust the pose, and with all adjusted bones selected click "propagate pose". The changes are applied across that range.

To undo a change made while the offset is active, you press Ctrl+Z twice: once to undo your edit and once more to remove the offset propagation. Ani Offset is compatible with Blender 5.0 and newer and is released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later.

Frequently asked questions

What Blender versions does Ani Offset support?

Ani Offset is compatible with Blender 5.0 and newer. The add-on is installed by dragging and dropping it into Blender, or by downloading and installing it from disk. Once installed, you enable it in the side panel named Ani Offset. From there you select the action and slot you want to modify from a dropdown menu and set the frame range before adjusting poses. Check the developer's page for the latest release details.

How do I undo a change made with Ani Offset while the offset is active?

Ani Offset requires pressing Ctrl+Z twice to undo a change made while the offset is active: once to undo your edit and a second time to remove the offset propagation. This differs from a single undo, so keep it in mind when reversing pose changes. The workflow otherwise involves capturing a pose, adjusting the selected bones, and clicking propagate pose to apply the changes across your defined frame range.

Is Ani Offset free to use?

Ani Offset is listed as free here and is released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later. For current licensing terms and any additional details, refer to the developer's page. The add-on does not require special permissions to run in Blender, and it is a small download of only a few kilobytes, making it quick to add to your setup.

Do animation curves change after using Ani Offset?

Ani Offset applies pose adjustments across the frame range you define while the animation curves are maintained. After you capture a pose, adjust the selected bones and click propagate pose, the positioning of those bones or the rig is adjusted, yet the underlying animation curves stay intact. This lets you work on pose offsets across several keyframes at once directly from the viewport in pose mode.
