Baya - Blender To Maya Bridge is a Blender tool from Peter Gubin that generates Maya source files (.ma) inside Blender. It is built as a quick way to exchange data with other artists who work in Maya, and to iterate when using Maya oriented game engine exporters by generating Maya source and exporting through Maya.
The tool lets you choose a Y or Z up axis, with Y as the default. Base color textures are transferred to Maya materials during the process. Documentation is included, and a demo video is available.
Baya is compatible with Blender 4.0 and above, and version 1.4.1 added support for Blender 4.2 and later. Version 1.3.0 brought code cleanup, bug fixes, and a fix for the orientation issue. One known limitation is that object orientation is wrong when an object is parented. Planned additions include linked collections support, fuller material export with textures, Havok nodes, and armature transfer.
