Deform Pro stands out in the superhive library for pairing an Object-mode Dynamic Lattice with a Laplacian-based Surface Constraint generator, giving Blender users two distinct approaches to mesh deformation in one addon.
Deform Pro, previously named Shapeshift PRO, is a mesh deformation addon for Blender developed by AlbertoFX. It was built to make deforming meshes more dynamic and user-friendly in Blender 2.9, and it provides two tools: a Dynamic Lattice and a Surface Constraint generator.
The Dynamic Lattice works in Object mode and creates lattice points that let you manipulate its target point. Its points are managed to keep the workflow moving, rather than adding a hook point after point and repeating the process whenever u, v, w values change. You can set a single value across all u, v, w grid parameters through uvwMode, select points easily with DeformMode, adjust point display type and size, and apply the result as a ShapeKey named before applying.
The Surface Constraint generator adds surface deformation constraints with a click-and-drag feature, deforming assets using a Laplacian-based method. You enable the Surface Constraint modal, follow the controls in the bottom header, then click on the mesh surface and drag for deformation proximity. Adaptive Deformation can be toggled for Laplacian-based deformation, otherwise it works by target proximity.
Deform Pro: Mesh Deformation Tool For 2.9+ is best for blender artists deforming meshes with an Object-mode Dynamic Lattice or click-and-drag surface constraints.
Deform Pro: Mesh Deformation Tool For 2.9+ is completely free to download and use.
Deform Pro supports Blender 2.8, 2.81, 2.82, 2.83, 2.9 and 2.91, as listed by the developer. It was built to make mesh deformation more dynamic and user-friendly in Blender 2.9, which is the release it targets. If you run a version outside this range, check the developer's page to confirm compatibility before installing, since the listed builds reflect the versions the developer lists as compatible. The version listed here is 1.1, and a demo video is available.
Deform Pro's Dynamic Lattice runs in Object mode, which the developer created because deforming objects with a standard lattice can be tedious. The Dynamic Lattice provides lattice points that let you manipulate its target point, and those points are managed to keep the workflow moving rather than adding a hook point after point and repeating the process whenever u, v, w values change. You can also add a dynamic lattice after applying, and apply the deformation as a ShapeKey.
Deform Pro's Surface Constraint generator lets you add surface deformation constraints through a click-and-drag feature that deforms assets using a Laplacian-based method. To use it, enable the Surface Constraint modal and follow the controls shown in the bottom header, then click on the surface of your mesh and drag for deformation proximity. Adaptive Deformation can be enabled for Laplacian-based deformation; otherwise it deforms by target proximity, and you can adjust the constraint size as needed.
Deform Pro is listed as free in this catalog. It is released under the GPL license and comes from AlbertoFX, also credited as Alberto Gonzalez. For current licensing terms, pricing on the developer's storefront, or any changes to how the addon is distributed, visit the developer's page. The version listed here is 1.1, published more than seven years ago, and a demo video is available if you want to see the addon before installing.
