Why we like it

Version 1.0.5 lifts the earlier 8-item cap and adds a "Frame Selected Favorite" option along with new shortcuts and pie menu icons.

What is Favorite Objects?

Favorite Objects is a Blender add-on from 1P2D for marking objects as favorites and selecting them instantly from the Viewport. It is aimed at fullscreen or maximized workflows where the Outliner is out of the way. In Object Mode, right-click adds or removes an object from favorites, and Ctrl+Alt+LMB opens the Favorite Objects menu, with the shortcut adjustable in the add-on settings.

Version 1.0.5 removes the previous 8-item limit: when a scene has more than eight objects, the first seven appear in the pie and a "More" submenu occupies the eighth slot. The update also adds Ctrl+Alt+RMB to add selected objects to favorites and Ctrl+Alt+RMB double-click to remove them, sets the pie menu default shortcut to "Click", adds icons to the pie menu, and introduces a "Frame Selected Favorite" option.

The add-on is compatible with Blender 4.2 LTS and newer and requires no special permissions. It is released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later.

Who is Favorite Objects best for?

Favorite Objects is best for blender users working in fullscreen or maximized viewports who want to reach specific objects without the Outliner.

How much does Favorite Objects cost?

Frequently asked questions

Does Favorite Objects work with Blender 4.2?

Favorite Objects is compatible with Blender 4.2 LTS and newer, so it runs on 4.2 and later releases. The add-on is small at 5.8 KB and requires no special permissions in Blender. It can be installed by dragging and dropping the downloaded file into Blender, or by downloading the package and using Install from Disk. If you are on an older Blender version, you would need to update to at least 4.2 LTS to use it.

How do I add and remove favorites in Favorite Objects?

Favorite Objects works in Object Mode. Right-click adds an object to or removes it from your favorites, and Ctrl+Alt+LMB opens the Favorite Objects menu. Version 1.0.5 also adds Ctrl+Alt+RMB to add selected objects to favorites and Ctrl+Alt+RMB double-click to remove them. The menu shortcut can be changed in the add-on settings, and the pie menu default shortcut is set to "Click", which you can switch back to "Press" if you prefer.

How many favorites can Favorite Objects store per scene?

Favorite Objects previously limited storage to eight favorite objects per scene. Version 1.0.5 removes that cap: when you have more than eight objects, the first seven appear in the pie menu and a "More" submenu takes the eighth slot, giving access to the rest. The pie menu also shows icons in this version, and a "Frame Selected Favorite" option lets you frame a chosen favorite.
