At 6.4 KB, Frame Focus is a lightweight add-on focused purely on listing and navigating Frame nodes. Version 2.0.1 replaced the eval function with dict or getattr and added a GitHub Issues page for reporting problems.
Frame Focus is a Blender add-on for working with Frame nodes. It builds a FrameNodes list where clicking a button focuses on the corresponding node, so you can jump between frames without hunting through the node editor.
The list can be reordered with walking buttons for up, down, to-top, and to-bottom, and sorted by Label, Color (Hue), or Reverse. Three display modes control what extra controls appear: None hides the additional functions, Look adds Custom Color and Shrink, and Word exposes Label Font size, Label, and Text. Every mode still shows the Select, Color, and Focus buttons.
Node colors can be changed together — Frame nodes by default, with the option to apply to other node types too. Note that the list is sorted by the name of the Frame nodes, so using the sorting tool renames all Frame nodes. Compatible with Blender 4.2 LTS and newer, it's released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later.
Frame Focus is best for blender users who work with many Frame nodes and want to list, sort, and jump between them.
Frame Focus is completely free to download and use.
Frame Focus is compatible with Blender 4.2 LTS and newer, so any version from that release onward should run it. The current build is version 2.0.1, published in October 2024. Since it targets the 4.2 LTS baseline, users on older Blender releases would need to upgrade before installing. The add-on is small at 6.4 KB and requires no special permissions, which keeps setup straightforward on supported versions of Blender.
Frame Focus installs through Blender's extension system in one of two ways. You can drag and drop the add-on directly into Blender, or download the package and use Install from Disk in Blender's extension preferences. The download is a 6.4 KB zip, so the process is quick. Once installed, the FrameNodes list becomes available for listing, focusing on, sorting, and recoloring Frame nodes. It's built for Blender 4.2 LTS and newer, so confirm your version before installing.
Frame Focus does not require any special permissions to run in Blender. It's a compact add-on at 6.4 KB that works with Blender's nodes to list Frame nodes, focus on them, reorder and sort the list, and change node colors. The lack of special permission requirements means it installs and operates without extra access requests. It's released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later, and bug reports are handled through the developer's GitHub Issues page.
Frame Focus sorts its list by the name of the Frame nodes, and using the sorting tool will change the names of all Frame nodes as a result. Sorting options include Label, Color (Hue), and Reverse, and the list can also be reordered manually with the walking buttons for up, down, to-top, and to-bottom. If keeping original node names matters to your project, it's worth knowing that the sorting tool alters them across all Frame nodes.
Frame Focus is listed as free here in the catalog, and it's distributed under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later. For the current licensing terms and any updates, check the developer's page. The add-on has been downloaded several thousand times and requires no special permissions to use. Support and issue reporting run through the developer's GitHub Issues page, which is also where version 2.0.1 added a dedicated issues link.
