Earns its place for combining object alignment, distribution, and Edit Mode origin shifting in one sidebar panel, with version 2.0.10 extending support to Blender 5.1.
SCO ButtObjects handles object alignment in Blender's Object Mode, aligning selected objects to the bounds of the active object, the 3D cursor, or the active object's origin. Alignment works along the X, Y, or Z axis, snapping to Minimum, Center, or Maximum bounds with Inside or Outside positioning.
When Align to Object Origin is selected, the add-on can also copy the active object's scale and rotation to the selected objects. A Distribute function evenly spaces objects along the X, Y, or Z axis when three or more are selected. In Edit Mode, a separate tool moves the active object's origin to the center of selected geometry without leaving Edit Mode, and the process can be repeated across multiple objects.
The tools sit in the Item tab of the 3D Viewport Sidebar. Version 2.0.10 improves compatibility with Blender 5.1, keeps backward compatibility with Blender 4.2 and newer, and renames both the Object Mode and Edit Mode panels to SCO ButtObjects near the top of the Item tab.
SCO ButtObjects is best for blender artists who need to align, distribute, and shift the origins of objects in a scene.
SCO ButtObjects is completely free to download and use.
SCO ButtObjects is compatible with Blender 4.2 LTS and newer. Version 2.0.10 improves compatibility with Blender 5.1 by removing the restrictive maximum Blender version from the extension manifest, while backward compatibility with Blender 4.2 and later is kept through the minimum version setting. The update also packages the extension with Blender's official extension builder format so the manifest is placed correctly for installation. If you run a version between 4.2 and 5.1, the add-on is designed to load without the earlier version ceiling holding it back.
SCO ButtObjects aligns selected objects to the bounds of the active object, the 3D cursor, or the active object's origin. You choose an axis of X, Y, or Z and whether to align to the Minimum, Center, or Maximum bounds, with Inside or Outside positioning. This controls which edge or center of the objects lines up with the target. The alignment tools operate in Object Mode and can process multiple selected objects at once, so the 3D cursor works as a reference point for arranging a whole selection.
SCO ButtObjects includes an Object Origin Shift feature that works in Edit Mode. It moves the origin of the active object to the center of the selected geometry without requiring you to leave Edit Mode. The process can be repeated for multiple objects, which streamlines origin adjustments across a workflow. This is separate from the Object Mode alignment and distribution tools, and it has its own panel in the Item tab of the 3D Viewport Sidebar, renamed to SCO ButtObjects in version 2.0.10.
SCO ButtObjects is listed as free here and is released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later. It does not require special permissions to install. You can add it by dragging and dropping the extension into Blender, or by downloading it and installing from disk. The add-on is distributed through Blender's extensions platform and packaged with the official extension builder format. For current licensing terms, source, and support, check the developer's page.
SCO ButtObjects appears in the Item tab of the 3D Viewport Sidebar in Blender. Version 2.0.10 renames both the Object Mode and Edit Mode panels to SCO ButtObjects and moves them near the top of the Item tab, making the tool easier to identify. From these panels you can reach the alignment, distribution, scale and rotation copying, and origin-shift functions. Open the sidebar in the 3D Viewport to access the tools while working on a scene.
