Ghostool is a Blender addon aimed at animators. It creates ghosts — onion skins, static meshes at specific frames of an animation — directly inside the 3D viewport.
The addon is intended to support the animation workflow, helping with in-betweens, timing and spacing. Because ghosts freeze animated frames, you can compare poses across the animation as you work.
Ghostool runs on Blender 3.3 through 5.1, including the 4.5, 4.2, 3.6 and 3.3 LTS releases, and the developer commits to keeping it current for the last two LTS versions and the current release. It ships with documentation and is distributed under the GPL license. Jefferson Rausseo, the developer, is listed as a Blender Development Fund contributor. On superhive it holds a five-star rating from 15 reviews.
