Nature Clicker is a free Blender addon from Oliver J Post for placing nature assets with more control than particle systems. Once you press the 'start clicking' button, you can keep moving around your scene and adjust the sliders in the addon panel without quitting the placing operation. Pressing ENTER, or Return on macOS, brings in a new random object to place.
Copies are created as instances by default, which keeps memory usage light. An option to move objects to a 'CLICKR' collection lets you hide all the placed assets at once by hiding that collection. The addon works with a range of nature assets, including Grasswald, Botaniq and your own creations.
One known limitation is that snapping can misbehave at certain view angles; the developer suggests placing from a higher perspective, sometimes almost straight down, to reduce it. Documentation is included, and a demo video is available. It is distributed under the GPL license.
