Parent to Empty earns its place in the Superhive library by narrowing object-to-empty parenting to a few clear buttons, covering single and per-object empties along with collection conversion and tracking.
Parent to Empty is a Blender add-on built around a single task: parenting selected objects to an empty. Pressing the Parent to Empty button in the add-on panel adds an empty at a specified location in the scene and parents the current selection to it. You can send every selected object to one shared empty, or create a separate empty for each object.
Transformations are handled either way. You can keep the location, rotation, and scale of the parented objects, or transfer them to the parent empty, in which case the empty is created at the object's origin. A Remove parent Empty button clears the parenting and deletes the empty. The add-on also converts an active collection into objects parented to an empty and back again, and includes a Track to Empty function that creates an empty for all objects to target and track.
The add-on sits in the 3D Viewport's N panel under a PtoE tab and lists support for Blender 2.93, 3.0, and 3.1. It's distributed under the GPL license.
Parent To Empty is best for blender users who regularly parent objects to empties and want single-empty, per-object, collection conversion, and track-to-empty options from one N panel tab.
Parent To Empty is completely free to download and use.
Parent to Empty lists compatibility with Blender 2.93, 3.0, and 3.1. If you run one of these versions, the add-on installs through the standard preferences workflow and shows up in the 3D Viewport. For newer Blender releases not named here, check the developer's page to confirm current compatibility before installing, since these are the versions stated for the add-on. The current add-on version is 1.1.0, and it is distributed under the GPL license.
Parent to Empty installs from a downloadable .zip archive. Download the archive, then open Blender's Preferences window, go to the Add-ons section, choose Install, and point it to the downloaded file. Once enabled, the add-on lives in the 3D Viewport under the N panel in a tab labelled PtoE. From there you can reach its buttons, including Parent to Empty for creating the empty and Remove parent Empty for clearing it. This follows Blender's standard add-on installation process.
Parent to Empty is found in the 3D Viewport window, inside the N panel, under a tab named PtoE. Opening that tab reveals the add-on's controls. The Parent to Empty button adds an empty at a specified scene location and parents your selected objects to it. The Remove parent Empty button reverses that action by removing the parenting and deleting the empty. The same panel also gives access to the Collection to Parent Empty and Track to Empty functions.
Parent to Empty is listed as free in this catalog and is distributed under the GPL license. For current licensing terms or any seat-based options, check the developer's page, since pricing and license details can change over time. The add-on is created by Nikita Akimov and has earned a rating from a small number of users. A demo video is also available on the developer's page.
