Path Actions earns its place in the blender_extensions library for turning routine filesystem tasks — opening folders, copying paths, and hopping between related blend files — into header-button and modifier-key actions.
Path Actions adds a folder button to the top-right of Blender's header. A simple click opens the current blend file's folder in your operating system's file browser. Modifier keys extend the button: Ctrl+Click copies the blend path, Shift+Click opens a Side Blend list, Alt+Click reveals alternative actions, and Ctrl+Alt+Click brings up a formatted-path copy popup.
The Side Blend menu lists other blend files in the same folder, letting you open one in place, launch it in another Blender instance, or copy its path. The Alternative actions menu covers a multi-version file history, copies of app-related paths for the blender-app, config, temp and script-directories folders, the executable path, and shortcuts to open or search the addon folder.
In the file browser, buttons open the browsed folder in the OS explorer or point the browser at the blend's location, and search operators toggle the output path between relative and absolute. A developer mode adds a full blend-reload button and a link checker that lists external files and edits library filepaths.
Path Actions is best for blender users who frequently open blend folders, move between related files in the same directory, and manage relative or absolute path references.

Path Actions lists compatibility with Blender 4.2 LTS and newer, and since Blender 4.2 it can be installed from the extension platform. The add-on places a folder button in the header that opens the current blend file's folder in your operating system's file browser, along with modifier-key actions for copying paths and opening related blend files. If you are on an older release, the developer's page on GitHub references separate builds for earlier Blender versions, including a 2.7 version.
Path Actions is listed as free here in our catalog and is released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later, which covers use, modification and redistribution of the add-on's source. Path Actions keeps its developer-oriented tools behind a Developer mode checkbox in the add-on preferences. Enabling it adds a full blend-reload button next to the header folder icon, which closes and reopens Blender with the current file, plus a Check File Links tool that lists external files linked or used in the blend and can edit library filepaths. Separately, enabling developer extras in Blender's interface preferences exposes search operators for opening the output folder and switching the output path between relative and absolute.
Path Actions binds Ctrl+Alt+Shift+O to a popup that searches your recent file history, so you can quickly find and open a previous blend. The same enhanced history is available through the Alternative actions menu, reached with Alt+Click on the header folder button, where you can inspect other Blender versions' history, open a file in place or in a new instance, and copy its path.
