Does Polymating work with Blender 4.5?

Polymating works on Blender 4.5 at the time of its 1.4 writing. From the 1.4 update onward it will no longer be tested on Blender versions below 5.0, so the addon is being aligned with that release. An earlier note for version 1.3.1 mentioned it may break on Blender versions below 4.2, in preparation for 5.0. For the current supported versions, check the developer's page before installing.

How does Vertex Locking work in Polymating?

Polymating includes Vertex Locking as an experimental feature that keeps chosen vertices in place during projection. Locking has become more aggressive: it is no longer bypassed by the nearest solver and persists through solver changes. It can now read multiple lock groups, though this adds overhead proportional to both the number of vertices and the number of lock groups each vertex belongs to. Global overlay controls are also available alongside the locking options.

How does Polymating treat hidden vertices and masks?

Polymating skips hidden vertices during projection, including vertices hidden by a mask modifier, so unhiding them makes projection take effect immediately. It respects masks made in Sculpt mode, and those masks persist through Object and Edit modes, giving locking behaviour in Sculpt mode while not projecting in Edit mode. For performance, hidden vertices are only partially evaluated to check whether projection affects them, which keeps interaction smooth on a larger polycount base.
