SceneShutter is a camera viewport export tool for 3ds Max, built for architectural visualization and animation professionals. It batch-exports clean, safe-frame viewport previews from multiple cameras without rendering, supporting Free, Target, V-Ray Physical, and Corona cameras.
Instead of full renders, it uses real-time viewport screenshots, which the developer notes makes preview generation 10x faster than traditional batch render workflows. Safe frame cropping captures only the visible safe frame, keeping aspect ratio accuracy without cropping in post. You can add customizable overlay text to each preview, such as camera name, lens, aspect ratio, timestamp, and user. Flexible aspect ratios cover formats like 1:1, 16:9, 4:3, and 2.35:1.
The tool ships as an .mzp installer with a full UI for selecting an output folder, picking cameras, adjusting overlays, and exporting. V-Ray Physical cameras use a built-in resolution override, while other cameras work with the optional Camera Resolution Mod to simulate different aspect ratios. SceneShutter does not replace rendering; it helps you work faster before rendering.
