Simply Concept earns a spot in the superhive library on the strength of a recommendation from Chipp Walters and a five-star rating across its reviews. It now receives compatibility updates only, with no new features planned.
Simply Concept is a Blender add-on for building up a 3D concept from primitive objects with a few clicks. You can choose from primitive objects or bring in your own created model, and adjust the resolution to control the level of detail and performance. As you work, complex shapes merge in real time and you can already see the shading of the crossing parts.
Any primitive stays editable until you confirm the concept, so changes can be made at any point. Once production is done, the concept mesh is remeshed and can move on to further modifications, retopology, or sculpting, without worrying about topology along the way.
The add-on is built on Blender's geometry nodes and has been recommended by Chipp Walters. Documentation is available, and support is offered in English, German, and Russian. Note that geometry nodes are still developing in Blender, so effects like geometry not appearing after mirroring can occur; toggling between edit and object mode or changing the smoothing factor refreshes the display.
Simply Concept is best for concept artists and modelers who want to block out 3D ideas quickly from primitives before moving into retopology or sculpting.
Simply Concept is completely free to download and use.
Simply Concept lists compatibility with Blender versions 2.93 through 5.0, covering a wide range of releases across that span. If you're on a version inside that range, the add-on is intended to run for you. Going forward it receives compatibility updates only, with no new features planned, so the focus stays on keeping it working with current and future Blender releases in that window. For the latest confirmed compatibility, check the developer's page.
Simply Concept relies on Blender's geometry nodes, which the Blender Foundation is still developing, so you may occasionally see unwanted results such as geometry not appearing after mirroring. According to the developer, this is a refresh issue coming from the geo node rather than a bug in the add-on. You can usually clear it by changing the smoothing factor or switching back and forth between edit and object mode, which prompts the display to refresh.
Simply Concept is released under the MIT license, one of the more permissive open-source licenses. That gives you broad freedom to use, modify, and distribute the add-on within the terms of that license. Because license conditions can matter for how you integrate a tool into your own projects, it's worth reading the full text. For the exact wording and any conditions that apply, refer to the developer's page directly.
Simply Concept is listed as free in this catalog. Pricing and licensing can change over time and may differ on the developer's own store, so for the current terms and the most accurate details, check the developer's page directly. The add-on itself is released under the MIT license, which governs how you can use and modify it once you have it.
