Time Tracker earns its place in the Blender extensions library for turning something easy to lose track of, hours inside a blend file, into a sortable log, with inactivity detection and a manual stop & go for the moments you step away from the desk.
Time Tracker is a Blender extension by PhinDev that keeps a running count of the time you spend inside each blend file. A new session starts every time you open a file, and reopening the same file during the day adds further sessions, so your record reflects how you actually worked.
The add-on runs a stop & go function built on a modal operator, which you can pause and continue manually, and it detects inactivity using a threshold you set yourself. All tracked files appear in a timetable you can sort and filter for a detailed overview of your spent time. Version 0.2.4 added a Reset time option and a settings panel, where resetting a file clears its time data after a confirmation popup.
For users who rely on Blender's autosave, an autosave compatibility mode lets the stop & go function work alongside it. Time Tracker sits at rank 224 in the Blender extensions library.
Time Tracker is best for blender users who want to measure how long they spend working in individual blend files and review that time across sessions.
Time Tracker is completely free to download and use.
Time Tracker is compatible with Blender 4.2 LTS and newer, so current Blender releases should run it. You can add it by dragging and dropping the extension into Blender, or by downloading the file and using Install from Disk. Because it saves timing data to disk, it requests file permissions when installed. If you hit version-specific problems, the developer's GitHub issues page is the place to report them.
Time Tracker installs in one of two ways: drag and drop the extension straight into Blender, or download the file and choose Install from Disk in Blender's preferences. It requires Blender 4.2 LTS or newer. Once installed, it needs permission to save timing data to disk, since that is how it stores the time recorded for each blend file. Its panels appear in the N-panel, where you manage tracking and view your records.
Time Tracker is listed as free here in our catalog. It is distributed under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later, and the developer accepts optional donations to support the work. For current licensing terms and any changes, check the developer's page. The extension has been downloaded more than nineteen thousand times and holds a 5.0 rating across its reviews on the Blender extensions site.
Time Tracker's stop & go function is built on a modal operator, which can conflict with Blender's autosave. To handle this, the add-on includes an autosave compatibility mode that lets the stop & go function work while autosave is enabled. In version 0.2.4 the autosave compatibility checkbox was moved into a new settings panel. Turn it on if you want to use both features together.
Time Tracker's Reset time option, added in version 0.2.4, deletes all recorded time data for the currently opened blend file. Because that clears your logged time, it asks for confirmation through a popup before removing anything. The button sits in the settings panel introduced in the same release, alongside the autosave compatibility checkbox. Use it when you want to start the count fresh for a file.
