Why we like it

UV Maps+ earns its place in the Blender Extensions library by tackling something Blender leaves out — reordering UV maps and pushing past the 8-map ceiling — and pairing it with batch tools that reach across multiple selected objects.

What is UV Maps+?

UV Maps+ handles UV map management in Blender by removing the 8 UV map limit and allowing UV reordering. Built by JR3DFUL, it adds batch editing tools for managing UV maps across multiple objects.

Reordering happens with ▲/▼ arrows or by moving a map directly to the top or bottom of the list. A Specials menu adds sort, reverse, duplicate, and delete options. Batch operations cover syncing order, copying unique map names, and transferring UV data between objects when topology matches. In Edit Mode, you can copy and paste UV coordinates between selections.

A built-in warning system flags UV maps sitting in slots 9 and above, which Blender's UV Editor cannot edit; reordering them into slots 1–8 makes them editable again. UV Maps+ is listed in the Blender Extensions library and is compatible with Blender 4.2 LTS and newer.

Who is UV Maps+ best for?

UV Maps+ is best for working with meshes that need more than 8 UV maps, and reordering or batch-managing UV maps across multiple objects at once.

How much does UV Maps+ cost?

UV Maps+ is completely free to download and use.

Frequently asked questions

Does UV Maps+ work with Blender 4.2?

UV Maps+ is compatible with Blender 4.2 LTS and newer, so any version from that release onward should run it. It installs as a Blender extension: you can drag and drop the downloaded file into Blender or install it from disk through the preferences. The current release is version 2026.1.2. If you're on an older build than 4.2 LTS, the extension isn't listed as supported, so updating Blender first is the safest route before adding it.

Can UV Maps+ create more than 8 UV maps on a mesh?

UV Maps+ removes Blender's built-in 8 UV map limit, so you can add maps beyond that ceiling. Keep in mind that maps sitting in slots 9 and above cannot be edited in Blender's UV Editor. The add-on includes a warning system that highlights those maps, and reordering them into slots 1 through 8 makes them editable again. Reordering uses ▲/▼ arrows or a direct move to the top or bottom of the list.

Can UV Maps+ edit UV maps across multiple objects at once?

UV Maps+ includes batch operations for multiple selected objects. You can sync the order of UV maps, copy unique map names between them, and transfer UV data from one object to another, though transferring UV data requires matching topology. There are also Edit Mode tools for copying and pasting UV coordinates between selections. For a single object, the Specials menu adds sort, reverse, duplicate, and delete options alongside the reordering controls.

What license is UV Maps+ released under?

UV Maps+ is released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later. In this catalog it's listed as free, though for current licensing terms and any conditions on use or redistribution you should check the developer's page. The extension doesn't require special permissions inside Blender, and it's distributed by JR3DFUL as a Blender extension. If you run into problems, issues can be reported through the developer's GitHub tracker.
