Pixie Pivot earns its place in the superhive library by bringing Maya- and 3ds Max-style pivot control to Blender, built on top of the native 3D Cursor. The built-in HUD makes the hotkey-driven workflow easier to pick up.
Pixie Pivot is a Blender add-on that sets a custom pivot point to align your gizmos or change an object's origin, and it works both with gizmos and with the standard G, R, and S transforms. It's inspired by the pivot systems in Maya and 3ds Max. Under the hood it facilitates placing Blender's native 3D Cursor, which is what lets it re-align gizmos, set new object origins (both place and rotate), and define a custom plane to flatten geometry or align edges.
For alignment, it can follow edges or face normals, snap to mesh centers and bounding box elements, and support up to three alignment points when precision is needed. A click-and-drag action aligns a gizmo with another element without changing your selection, and you can switch between Object and World orientation at any moment.
Pixie Pivot is fully customizable: you can change hotkeys and actions, set new startup defaults, adjust colors, and more. A built-in HUD displays every action and every key available as you work, and documentation is included. It's distributed under the GPL license.
Pixie Pivot is best for blender users who need custom pivot points, gizmo alignment, and object origin control.
Pixie Pivot is completely free to download and use.
Pixie Pivot is listed as compatible with Blender versions 4.5 through 5.1, so it covers current releases in that range. It's a Blender add-on built to facilitate placing the native 3D Cursor, which it then uses to re-align gizmos, set object origins, and define custom planes to flatten geometry or align edges. If you're running a version inside that range, check the developer's page for installation notes and any specifics before adding it to your setup.
Pixie Pivot works both with gizmos and without them. Beyond aligning gizmos, it applies to Blender's standard G, R, and S transforms, so you can use a custom pivot during grab, rotate, and scale operations. The add-on works by placing Blender's 3D Cursor and targeting mesh elements, which is what lets it re-align gizmos, set new origins, and define a custom plane to flatten geometry or align edges. That gives you the same pivot control across several transform methods.
Pixie Pivot is distributed under the GPL license, and it's listed here as free. Licensing terms can change, so for current pricing and any purchase details it's best to check the developer's page directly. On the same page you'll also find the documentation that ships with the add-on, which helps you get the pivot, origin, and orientation controls set up the way you want. The built-in HUD also displays every action and key available while you work.
Pixie Pivot handles both. Alongside re-aligning gizmos, it can set new object origins, including placing and rotating them, rather than only adjusting alignment. It also supports up to three alignment points when precision is needed, snaps to mesh centers and bounding box elements, and can align to edges or face normals. A click-and-drag option lets you align a gizmo with another element without changing your current selection, and you can switch between Object and World orientation at any moment.
