Earns its place in the Blender extensions library as a focused importer and exporter for the SF3 format, covering model, image, and archive files. Version 1.1.0 addressed issues reported by the linter.
Shirakumo SF3 IO is an add-on that gives Blender import and export support for the Simple File Format Family (SF3). It reads and writes three SF3 file types: model files (.mod.sf3) for single mesh and material storage, image files (.img.sf3) for texture storage, and archive files (.ar.sf3) that bundle multiple meshes and materials together.
The add-on is built by shinmera and works with Blender 4.2 LTS and newer. It is released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later together with the Zlib License, and requests file access permission so it can move SF3 data between disk and Blender. You can add it by dragging and dropping the extension into Blender or by installing it from disk.
Version 1.1.0, published in July 2025, fixed issues reported by the linter. The add-on's source is hosted on the developer's GitHub page.
Shirakumo SF3 IO is best for blender users who need to import and export SF3 (Simple File Format Family) models, images, and archives.
Shirakumo SF3 IO is completely free to download and use.
Shirakumo SF3 IO is compatible with Blender 4.2 LTS and newer, so current long-term-support releases and later versions can run it. The add-on is at version 1.1.0, updated in July 2025, which fixed issues reported by the linter. If you are on an older Blender build, check the developer's GitHub page for details before installing, since the listed minimum for this add-on is Blender 4.2 LTS.
Shirakumo SF3 IO handles three SF3 file types. It imports and exports SF3 model files (.mod.sf3) for single mesh and material storage, SF3 image files (.img.sf3) for texture storage, and SF3 archive files (.ar.sf3) that bundle multiple meshes and materials together. This covers moving meshes, materials, and textures between Blender and the Simple File Format Family. See the developer's GitHub page for further specifics on each of these formats.
Shirakumo SF3 IO is distributed under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later along with the Zlib License. The add-on requests one permission, file access, so it can import and export SF3 data from and to disk. For the full license terms and any conditions on use or redistribution, refer to the developer's GitHub page, which hosts the source for the project.
Shirakumo SF3 IO can be installed by dragging and dropping it into Blender, or by downloading the add-on and using Install from Disk. It is a compact download and targets Blender 4.2 LTS and newer, so make sure your Blender version meets that minimum before installing. Once enabled, the SF3 import and export options become available. The developer's GitHub page hosts the source if you need it.
