A focused utility for anyone who needs consistent Custom Props across many objects rather than redefining them one at a time.
Global Custom Properties is a Blender extension from 1hue that adds a new panel with a set of global, predefined input fields for convenient Custom Property editing. In standard Blender, adding a Custom Property only applies it to a single object and is not reusable. This add-on instead provides standard input fields that are present on every Object, Collection and Scene, so you can keep your Custom Props consistent across them.
The extension works with existing Custom Properties, and no changes are made to existing data until you interact with a field. It is aimed at workflows involving export and import into Godot, Unity and Unreal Engine, where custom data exported from Blender is read after importing the model elsewhere.
Custom data on objects is already built into Blender's export options — for glTF 2.0 exports, Custom Properties can be included so imported meshes and nodes carry the metadata. Global Custom Properties builds on this by making those properties standardized rather than redefined for every single object. It requires Blender 5.0 or above and is released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later.
Global Custom Properties is best for blender users standardizing Custom Properties across Objects, Collections and Scenes for export into Godot, Unity or Unreal Engine.
Global Custom Properties is completely free to download and use.
Global Custom Properties requires Blender 5.0.0 or above, and the extension is listed as compatible with Blender 5.0 and newer. If you are on an earlier Blender release, the add-on will not meet its stated minimum version requirement. The current release is version 1.0.0, updated January 11th, 2026. Check the developer's GitHub page and the Blender Extensions listing for the latest version details and any future compatibility changes before installing.
Global Custom Properties can be installed by downloading it from the official Blender Extensions site, or by drag and drop into Blender. Alternatively, download the zip archive and, in Blender, go to Edit, then Preferences, then Add-ons, and choose Install from Disk before selecting the zip file. Once installed, find it in the Add-ons list and enable its checkbox. The download size is small at roughly 18.3 KB, so installation is quick.
Global Custom Properties works with existing Custom Properties, and no changes are made to existing data until you interact with a field. It adds standard input fields present on every Object, Collection and Scene, letting you edit Custom Props from one panel. Because the panel builds on data Blender already supports, it complements the built-in Custom Property system rather than replacing it. Interact with a field when you want to apply or standardize a value.
Global Custom Properties is listed as free here and is released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later. The extension does not require special permissions. For current licensing terms, source code and issue reporting, refer to the developer's GitHub page at github.com/1hue/blender-global-custom-properties. Since it is available through the official Blender Extensions site, you can download and install it directly, or drag and drop the add-on into Blender.
